Be Fearless (Part 3) - How to be Fearless

Welcome to part three of the "Be Fearless" series! So far, we've talked about God's greatness, David's battle & the giants you face in your own life. To wrap this all up I'd like to talk about how you and I can apply these specific concepts to our lives and live fearlessly.

Raise your hand if you're sick and tired of people being sheep. (I'm raising my hand.)

Let me explain what I mean. These days, people feed off of fear and the herd mentality. Everyone follows the next person in line because they don't want to be judged or looked at differently. Are you a sheep? Do you follow everyone else and how they live their lives? Are you a fearful person?

As soon as we started talking about this, a lightbulb should've gone on in your head. The Bible doesn't call us to be fearful, in fact, it calls us to be fearless. The only one that we should fear is God. The Bible is so clear on that. In Proverbs 9:10 it says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and knowledge of the holy is understanding." Therefore, you are a wise person when you fear the LORD and NOT man.

Again, Proverbs 15:16 restates, "Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith."

This verse is saying that even if you only have a few earthly goods and you fear the Lord, it is greater than any wealthy gain. Do you realize what this means? How much freedom and joy this spreads into our lives?!?!?! We are NO LONGER subject to the restrictions of an earthly mindset of wealth and social pride. We are renewed through Christ so that now we view and value fellowship with God above all things. That is the key.

When you value your relationship with God above all things, all opinions, all earthly gain, all pressures to prove, and every stronghold in your life, you will no longer be subject to fear. Because you will realize that God is greater than every fear.

Proverbs 29:25 "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe."

When you put your trust in the LORD you will be freed from the lie that the earth can kill you. Man can only kill the body. And if death is the worst thing in this life, we have absolutely NOTHING to fear because Christ already overcame death on the cross.

Matthew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

You and I have nothing to fear as believers. Walk like it! Don't worry about your future! Don't worry about anything. Bring it before the throne of the one who is above ALL fears, the One who holds the world in His power. If our bodies shall be destroyed through persecution, we shall rejoice in Christ because He bore the sins of the world on His shoulders. He deserves every ounce of our love even if that love means dying for His glory.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. Make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord turn His face towards you and give you peace. Amen.

Kaela and I would love to hear the struggles you face today and how we can best encourage you. Remember, we are not in this battle alone. God gave us each other to walk together in Him.
