Spotless Part I

Hey there amazing human!

You are SO LOVED by God! He has such an incredible plan and purpose for your life! Chase after Him regardless of the cost.

The main topic of this post is about remaining untouched from the world during our life on earth. The Holy Spirit has been pressing on my heart to share about this. Therefore, I decided, what better time than now?!?!? I cannot possibly touch on every area about this topic, so please bare with me as I try to formulate some of God's truths on this area of our faith. I'll write about it more soon!

God has set a high bar and standard for us. His son Jesus Christ lived a completely perfect life and paid for the price of all our sin on the cross.

1 Timothy 6:11-16 " But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Pon'tius Pi'-late witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords: Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."

So I'm telling you that we have to be completely perfect? No, I'm not saying that. Regardless of how hard we try, we will fall short of the glory of God because we are a fallen humanity. However, this does not give us a reason to throw up our hands in defeat and live completely immoral lives, since it's impossible to be holy. The process of sanctification occurs up until the point of our last breath.

Our primary purpose is to glorify God which is why we are called to live holy. The reason why, is so that others will see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven. We want to have a good report so that others will see what Christ looks like when He changes people.

Dah duh duh dahhhhh, BREAKING NEWS...

The bad news is, each day we fail. The good news is, Jesus lived the perfect life for us! His grace and strength are new each moment! We look to Him constantly to be the author and finisher of our faith. He does not fail us, we fail Him. Kaela Joy once stated during one of our long chats on the phone, "His mercies are always new! We just need to recognize that." She holds the key in that one statement.

Instead of feeling mad and angry at ourselves for sinning constantly, we need to remember that His mercies are new! We just have to have eyes that are open to see that. There's a quote that says, "God does not call the equipped, He equips the called." He has called you into a relationship with Him. He will sustain it. He will equip you to fight each battle, using the tools He's provided for us. Best of all, He will finish the work He started in you! That is the power of the gospel! It does not mean hopelessness in the face of sin, it means hopefulness in the loving eyes of our King.

Turn away from the things that are causing sin in your life! God has far better things in store for you than your own wants. He gives us exceedingly and abundantly more than we ever can think of. We just have to align our hearts with His. Don't judge your walk with Christ off of what other Christians are living like. Because guess what? Susie is a sinner too! Judge your walk with Christ off of Jesus relationship with God. Judge it off of His obedient and tender heart to the will of His Father.

I hope this leaves you feeling challenged and encouraged! This life is not easy, but it is worth it! Holiness is not easy, but it's worth pursuing. Remember whose you are!

By the way, we post every Monday on our blog here, and share a quote of the day on our Instagram throughout the week. We would love to encourage you on every platform possible! Let us know how we can pray for you through our DM's on Instagram @thejoysblog, or through our email thejoysblog@gmail.com!

Have a character shaping week! May God open your eyes to the truth in His word.
